  It was the first time I got my eyes checked. I did need glasses. I could not walk around and see what styles were out there, they picked what they "thought" would look on me. Which I did not like. The ones I loved she told me she didn't like it which I was not expecting anyone to put their opinion in. all the ones she pick were soo exspensive. No deals no savings. The women who checked my eyes was amazing though.

  I brought my daughter in to have her eyes checked, She is autistic and is really sensitive to bright lights, loud noises, eye contact and busy places. It can take her a while to calm enough to get her to let you near her but if you talk to her and let her check out the instruments and explain what they do, she will let you (patience is necessary). I actually said you may need to do it at slower time. I explained all of this on the phone when booking the apt. We got there for our apt. and it was crazy busy. We were rushed in and it did not go well, the tech seemed rushed and annoyed that my daughter was having a hard time with the bright light shining in her eyes and was scared. Needless to say, we were told that we couldn't finish the appointment and would have to reschedule and come back. I think that your staff needs some training on how to work with special needs people and maybe some sensitivity training to ensure they have as good an experience as everyone else.

  Disappointed. On three separate occasions the front desk staff scheduling appointments have missed the mark with regards to customer service. Appointments have been booked at times that I specifically requested to avoid. Another time I was running late due to a traffic accident (and called ahead and confirmed I should still come in) and have been turned away at the desk. Tired of getting the run around from this office. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

  The service was far from what I could expect from a clinic in Bedford. The assistant who did the eye mapping exam performed the exam right away without even looking at my eye. The puff of air burst out the lump I had in the eye and made it bleed. She couldn’t care less. She suddenly realized my eye was bleeding and offered me a tissue. I was so surprised that I talked to my family doctor who confirmed that it’s always safer to check the eyes before such a test. I was referred to the VG Hospital for something, that the ophthalmologist at the hospital said, is very common. When I arrived, the hospital did not have my file. Very disappointing. Waste of time and money...

  Needed to get an appointment in quickly before the holiday season began and Bedford Eye Care luckily had an opening within 24 hours. I've been wearing glasses for most of my life and have been to a number of different facilities in a few different provinces. Bedford Eye Care has certainly been one of the better experiences. The staff were courteous on the phone when I was booking my appointment and needed directions as I had recently run out of data on my phone plan and have never really explored the Bedford area. When I arrived the front counter staff were just as courteous as they had been over the phone.

  After a short wait my appointment was on time, despite being toward the end of the day. Every part of the exam went smoothly. The technician was very thorough when asking about my medical history to make sure that everything would be addressed during the exam. Dr. Sheppard was also very thorough and addressed all of my concerns.

  I haven't browsed through the eyewear selection yet so I don't have any input as of yet, but I certainly will be returning for future appointments.
